Needle felting creations by Manooni

Ukraine-based designers Hanna Dovhan and Olha Dovhan are creating cuddly figurines by using the needle felting technique. It basically involves poking wool with a needle repeatedly to create shapes. You can make cute little animals or make pretty much anything you want.

Hanna explained that she prefers to use pure wool who has so many vibrant colors over other materials. It's ideal and provides her with endless possibilities to create miniature figurines she likes. Furthermore, pure wool is also easy to work with because it can be cut neatly and easily sewn by hand or even glued.

She and her sister then opened a craft shop called Manooni which is based in Lviv, Western Ukraine. With the war that is still going on, their family is still living in a region occupied by Russia. As a result, they are trying to help raise money for Ukrainians in need using their artistic talents.

Each of the miniature figurines is so expertly sewn that it looks exactly like the image of the real thing in a cartoonish way. To purchase their original needle-felted creations, you can check Manooni's Etsy shop, and keep up to date with their latest projects by following them on Instagram.
