Bank Indonesia Releases Newest Rupiah Banknote TE 2022

On August 18, 2022, Bank Indonesia (BI) just released a new view of 7 rupiah notes as a manifestation of the spirit of nationalism, nationalism, and growing optimism for the national economic recovery (PEN). This is also in line with the theme of the 77th Indonesian Independence Day: recover faster, rise stronger.

With nominal details of Rp. 1000, Rp. 2000, Rp. 5000, Rp. 10,000, Rp. 20,000, Rp. 50,000, and Rp. 100,000, they continue to use the image of national heroes on the front of the bill as well as Indonesian cultural themes such as Indonesian dances, Indonesian natural charms, flora, and fauna on the back of the money.

The central bank of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized that the new rupiah notes for the year 2022 had no impact on the revocation or withdrawal of the old rupiah notes that had been issued previously.

The issuance and circulation of new money for the 2022 emission year is one of the implementations of the mandate of the Currency Law as part of planning to meet the public's money needs this year while still implementing good governance according to the law.
